Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Cuddington Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text content).
However, most of our images are for decorative purposes only and do not convey important information. Where the image is a poster promoting a forthcoming event, the details of the event (such as date, time and location) are duplicated in the accompanying text.
Enlarging content to improve readability – Disproportionate burden
It’s not possible for users to use the page zoom facility in the web browser beyond around 150% to 175% without some of the content bleeding off the edge of the window on a typical monitor. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.4 (Resize text).
We’ve assessed the cost of fixing this issue, and we believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the website is next rebuilt.
Note that changing the text size to ‘Large’ or ‘Very large’ in the browser settings (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome) or changing the default font size to 20 in the browser options (Mozilla Firefox) will enlarge the text without loss of any content.
