Playing Fields and Clubhouse

Clubhouse/Bar opening hours run by volunteers to support the upkeep of our Playing Fields:  Wed night  8 - 11, Fri night 8 - 11, Sat night 8 - 11, Sun afternoon 1-3

Cuddington Parish Council owns the Playing Fields and Clubhouse in Cuddington, on behalf of the whole village.  The Playing Fields and Clubhouse are leased to the Cuddington Playing Fields Association, at a peppercorn rent, to manage these facilities.  The Playing Fields facility is open to all Cuddington villagers free of charge.  There are tennis courts, a children’s play area, football and cricket pitches, and a boules pitch.

Additionally, the Clubhouse premises are managed by a separate Club Committee and membership is required to buy drinks, because of licensing restrictions.

The Clubhouse (CPFC)

The Clubhouse has been refurbished and now looks fresh, bright and clean, to encourage all Cuddington residents and their visitors to enjoy it to the full.  To ensure that the standard of the Clubhouse is maintained, all users are asked to clear up afterwards, and when children are present, there is also a responsible adult.  This is for everyone’s health and safety.  There is a new plasma TV for watching sporting events, and also a pool table and darts board.

In order to buy drinks, you need to be a Club Member.  You can be a member either as an individual, or by paying the fee through a village club or society.  If you are unclear whether you are a member or not, please contact the Treasurer (Pat) or Secretary (Kevin).

How to book the Clubhouse for private use

“Call My Bluff” Wine Quiz

The Bernard Hall, Cuddington

Saturday 25th November  7.30 pm for 8 pm

This year’s fundraiser for the upkeep and maintenance of the Playing Fields and the Clubhouse takes the form of a hilarious wine quiz in the style of “Call My Bluff”.  A centre-stage panel of bluffers will talk you through each wine and, after tasting, you need to guess which panellist was telling the truth.

Can you tell which of our panellists are bluffing and correctly identify the wine?  There will be eight wines to taste, so the quiz will no doubt become harder as the evening wears on!  Why not get a table together and enjoy the fun?

Tables of up to eight people, at £12.50 per head including eight wines with nibbles and a cheese platter on the table.

For more details contact Charles Sanderson on 291626 or email charles.sanderson7@gmail.com

Bonfire & Fireworks Party

This year the Fireworks Display at the Playing Fields on Friday 3rd November is once again going to be ‘Free Admission’, thanks to a donation from the Fête Committee to cover the costs of the fireworks!

We need lots of support to make sure that we cover all the additional costs and we promise a great value family night out!  The Playing Fields Clubhouse Bar will be open from 6pm, with the fireworks display from 7.30pm, after which the bonfire will be lit.  The BBQ will be selling hotdogs and burgers from Ricky at the Egghouse Charcuterie (formerly Parminters), hot drinks and cakes will be sold by Friends 4 Cuddington and Dinton School, and mulled wine and glowsticks will also be on sale.

We look forward to seeing you there.  Bring your friends and family – it is open to everyone!

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Following the very happy and successful event last year, we shall again be taking part in “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” in support of the Macmillan Cancer Fund.

Do please come along to the Playing Fields Clubhouse on Saturday 30th September at 10.00 am for a cup of tea or coffee and a tombola.  The money raised will go towards financing Macmillan nurses, offering financial support to patients’ families and funding health and social professionals who help people with cancer.

Please support us in helping this very worthy organisation to do their valuable work in the community.
